OPI X, is a new component of the Of Public Interest (OPI) platform, initiated in 2026 and currently under development. It operates as a studio environment that develops projects internally, and as an incubator that supports and collaborates on project development across different contexts.

In a time marked by growing political control over our shared living environment, speech, culture, and academia, this work sometimes requires us to create our own conditions, define our own roles, and advance projects and values that may be overlooked — or even unwelcome — in contexts where they are not invited.

OPI X focuses on developing works that take place in our shared living environment through a camouflaging practice — creating projects that function as spatial double agents, capable of operating across different ontologies and contexts. Grounded in listening, these works are developed where imagination meets critical thought and a sustained interest in how a practice meets a place, its context, its histories, and publics. They may serve multiple publics simultaneously, adapt to shifting conditions, or, when necessary, operate as a form of Trojan horse — inhabiting contexts that might otherwise resist them.

At this stage, OPI X begins with a small number of projects in different contexts that establish the foundation for its future work.
